Susan Jacobs N.D. received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and Masters

a world-renowned university in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Naturopathy
is a distinct system of medicine that is based on a belief in the healing power
of nature and in the body’s innate ability to fight disease and restore
health. Naturopathy incorporates a wide range of natural treatment methods, rather
than drugs or surgery, to stimulate the body’s own healing capabilities.
Susan Jacobs N.D. has worked at the Cole Center for Healing for 3 years, as
both a clinician and clinical manager. Before that she had three years clinical
experience in Seattle’s Bastyr Center for Natural Health, treating a large
variety of ailments and helping clients maintain good health. Other clinical rotations
in various specialty clinics include: Harborview Medical Center, One Sky Medicine
and Integrative Clinic and The Immune Wellness Center, all in Seattle, Washington.
Susan Jacobs N.D is trained to find and remove the causes of illness, treat
the whole person, prevent disease, and aid the body’s natural abilities
to heal itself. Susan Jacobs N.D. utilizes science-based, non-invasive therapies
in her practice, such as botanical medicine, homeopathy, nutrition, and acupuncture.
Her broad-spectrum of knowledge blends Eastern and Western traditions of healing
to successfully work with the following conditions: depression, anxiety, insomnia,
Crohn’s Disease, IBS, musculoskeletal pain, weight loss, addiction, thyroid
conditions, fatigue and ADD/ADHD, to name a few. Her specialties include pediatrics,
women’s health and lifestyle counseling.
Susan Jacobs N.D. holds her license in Ohio as an acupuncturist. She also is
licensed in Washington State as a Naturopathic Physician. Currently, Ohio does
not license Naturopaths, but there is an active lobbying effort to make Naturopaths
recognized as primary care physicians. If you would like more information on this
effort or would like to politically support the Ohio Chapter of American Association
of Naturopathic Physicians, please visit the website: www.ocaanp.org.
Some of Susan Jacob’s goals include: promoting holistic care that bridges
conventional and natural medicine, advocating patient’s rights and educating
patients about optimal health. Native to Cincinnati, she has returned to provide
naturopathic and acupuncture services to the community. Susan Jacobs N.D. received
her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.
Her thesis investigated the effects of garlic as a natural pesticide against a
radish pathogen, Xanthomona campestris. She also played on the Varsity women’s
soccer team during her undergraduate career. In her spare time Susan Jacobs N.D.
enjoys spending time with her husband, Daniel and her two children Elizah 7, and
Joseph 3. She also loves being outdoors, especially hiking, camping, and organic
gardening.
